Important Voting Deadlines Approaching in Pennsylvania

With the November election quickly approaching, it’s essential to be aware of upcoming registration and voting deadlines. This article will provide you with a comprehensive overview of these deadlines and important information about voter eligibility, registration methods, and mail-in ballot procedures. Let’s dive into the details:

Voter Eligibility Requirements in Pennsylvania

To be eligible to vote in Pennsylvania, you must fulfill the following requirements:

* Be a U.S. citizen
* Have resided in Pennsylvania for at least 30 days before Election Day
* Be at least 18 years old on Election Day

Voter Registration Deadline and Locations

The last day to register to vote or update your registration is Monday, October 20th, 2023. You can register to vote in person or online through the following locations:

In-person registration:

* County voter registration office
* County assistance offices
* Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program offices
* Armed Forces recruitment centers
* County clerk of orphans’ courts or marriage license offices
* Area agencies on aging
* County mental health and intellectual disabilities offices
* Student disability services offices of the State System of Higher Education
* Offices of special education in high schools
* Americans with Disabilities Act-mandated complementary paratransit providers
* Department of Transportation (PennDOT) driver and photo license centers

Online registration:

You can also register to vote online through the Pennsylvania Department of State website.

Mail-in Ballot Request Deadline

For those who wish to vote by mail, the deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 28th, 2023. You can request a ballot online or in person at your county election office. Voters in Allegheny County who have already requested a mail-in ballot should be receiving it soon.

Satellite Offices for Mail-in Ballot Completion and Return

In Allegheny County, satellite offices where voters can fill out and return mail-in ballots on the spot will be open on October 25th and 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. These locations include:

* Community College of Allegheny County – Homewood
* North Park Ice Rink
* South Park Ice Rink
* County Office Building (542 Forbes Ave)

Over-the-Counter Voting in Allegheny County

Over-the-counter voting is also available at the Allegheny County Office Building located at 542 Forbes Avenue, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ballot Return Sites in Allegheny County

For those who prefer to hand in their mail-in ballots to an election employee, ballot return sites will be open in the county from October 31st to November 3rd. You can find a full list of these sites on the Allegheny County Elections website.
